Before craft ale, there was a craft bitter. Here was a challenger brand from Charles Wells with small budgets, where the pint had to be big. So, we created a witty tone that 'pint porn' campaigns rarely have. Cue 'Englishness' and a well-loved endline. (Until Rik Mayall came along).
